Basalt short fibres, 18 mm long

With our basalt fibres you are technologically up to date. Compared to conventional staple fibres made from alkali resistant glass, laboratory tests prove up to 20% higher flexural strength of the concrete. Basalt fibres are also more heat resistant than glass fibres and thus the ideal reinforcement for refractory concrete, such as our GRISU®.

Rely on our basalt fibres for both refractory and normal concrete. The fibers are protected by a special waterproofing and thereby not sensitive to any alkalinity of the concrete.

For effective static reinforcement, the fibre content must be at least 2% of the mortar weight. In situations where it's all about reducing the risk of shrinkage cracks, a significantly lower dosage is sufficient.
