Gran-X Pigment for Concrete Type 005 oxide black

With our GRAN-X pigments, concrete can be coloured in any shade. This means that you are no longer limited to the usual, rather muted concrete colours, but can now give free rein to your colour preferences.

The pigments are prepared in a special process so that they are distributed perfectly evenly in the concrete. This not only guarantees optimum colour yield, but also reliably prevents the formation of disturbing pigment lumps in the concrete. Such lumps can be a nuisance in paints and fillers such as MARFINO®, for example, if they become triturated when the compound is applied to the wall and form colored stripes.

GRAN-X pigments come as fine, free-flowing granules due to their special preparation, which can be dosed very easily and cleanly. The granulate is best first dissolved in the mixing water and then added to the concrete.

All colours can be mixed with each other as desired. We recommend GRAN-X pigments especially for our MARFINO® PAINT Marble Cement Paint and our MARFINO® CONCRETE SURFACE Microcement. But of course they are also suitable for any other concrete, whereby a concrete based on white cement always gives the best colour results.

Please note that these pigments have a slight foaming effect due to their composition. This can be undesirable in casting concretes and especially in high-strength concretes, as it affects the strength. In such cases, we therefore recommend adding our defoamer X33.

The maximum recommended dosage of pigments in concrete and mortar masses is 5% relative to the cement contained. In the case of MARFINO®, about half of which consists of cement, this gives a maximum of 25 g of pigment per 1 kg of dry matter. However, a very strong colouring effect is usually already present even at significantly lower dosages.
