Metakaolin white

Our white metakaolin is a highly pure pozzolanic additive for the production of special types of concrete of your own recipe. You can produce high-performance and ultra high performance concrete (UHPC) yourself. In addition, you can design concrete mixes with a high degree of safety against efflorescence.

Its pozzolanic effect is a reaction of the metakaolin with the unbonded lime parts in the concrete. Thereby, the strength of the concrete is increased, and the free lime can not be deposited in the form of efflorescence on the surface. This effectiveness is also found in trass cement where the trass serves the role of pozzolan. Our metakaolin, however, is significantly lighter than trass powder and above all a lot finer. Having an average particle size of 2.8 microns, it is about 10 times finer than cement, and therefore fills in the pore spaces between the cement particles. This creates a particularly tight and solid concrete.

We recommend the following recipe for white UHPC: 2.5 kg BACKSTEIN® metakaolin white + 25 kg of white cement CEM I 42.5/R + 40 kg BACKSTEIN® marble sand white 0.5 - 2 mm + 250 g superplasticizer FLUP®-PCE-375 + 8.5 kg of water. All the ingredients are available in our shop.
