LFC concrete silicification

With LFC you have the opportunity to subsequently make concrete surfaces waterproof after the fact by silicification. The product based on special water glass is almost invisible and purely mineral. It is suitable for sealing bowls, fountains and other vessels made of concrete and provides perfect long-term protection for all otherwise untreated concrete surfaces. LFC does not work on surfaces that have already been treated or on surfaces that are not made of concrete.

We recommend our LFC concrete silicification for the treatment of concrete furniture and kitchen countertops because it provides long-lasting protection against stains, acid attacks and scratches. LFC, however, can only be recommended to a limited extent for extremely dense or high-strength concrete based on Dyckerhoff TEGNO® or Flowstone®, as well as our MOBY DUR®. In such inherently very dense concrete, comparatively little LFC penetrates and can become insolulable in the microstructure. For this application we recommend our H10 waterproofing as an alternative to LFC.

LFC is solvent-free and therefore very pleasant to use. But since it is a liquid glass, adjoining glass surfaces should be completely covered to avoid stains from splashing. The yield from LFC is about 4 square metres per litre.
